For regular visitors to our website, you’ll notice a subtle change. It’s still Anne Porteous at the helm and we continue to offer Equine Assisted Learning, Life Skills Coaching and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. The change we’ve made is to our business name.

We’ve taken our farm name ‘Sierra Acres’ as our company name for clarity and consistency and especially to help visitors to turn at the right driveway. If you’ve known us for a while, you’ve probably already been calling us Sierra Acres or at least thought of us as such. Now that’s what we call ourselves as well.

We’ve added ‘Healing Centre’ to our logo so that it is clear that our primary focus is on healing. Sierra Acres provides a unique non-judgmental environment for individuals and groups to focus in the present and work toward healing. Our work with PTS sufferers is of particular note as they have experienced real change after working with the horses.

Rebranding has been an interesting experience for me. It’s not always easy to undergo this type of change and even though it may not appear to be a major change, it is significant to me. A lot of time and energy goes into selecting a business name and setting up all of the components of the business around that name so I did not enter into it lightly when deciding the change was necessary.

We’ve started making the transition by creating a new logo and modifying our website and social media platforms. We should be fully switched over in the next week or two. We are also ensuring that the new name and logo appear in our other marketing efforts through signage and emails. We are confident that you’ll still be able to find us in the search engines as well as when driving in the neighbourhood.
